Valentine's Day

What a day! This weekend is a special weekend - Tim's mom is in town. So we get to enjoy visiting with her and her dog. It has been fun hearing even more stories of Tim - just can't get enough of those. And, she has an adorable dog - a dog that was abused and so it doesn't really trust people. It has been fun to watch that dog go in our backyard with my poopsies and see her rule the roost out there! We get to enjoy Meemaw's company until Wednesday - with (hopefully) a trip to the temple on Tuesday!

Ster was just so cute telling me "Happy Valentine's Day Mommy!" several times today -with a big smile and kiss. What a precious child I have.

At the start of last year, I was in the primary and taught the 4 year olds. I dreaded that thinking the 4 year olds would be much harder than the 9 year olds and I didn't do so well with the 9 year olds. Oh no. I loved those little ones! In the 5 weeks I was there I grew so attached to them and was heartbroken when they released me (I really did cry as soon as the front door closed when I was released). I love all the little kids, but there are 2 of them that melt my heart. These two little boys get the biggest smile on their faces when they see me. They wave and smile and make me feel so happy. So today I took each of them a valentine. They were so cute. Both of them took the treat with big smiles and then ran to show their parents. Made me feel so happy to know that they liked it. An hour or so later, I opened the door to find a plate full of cookies from little Kaden. Made me feel even happier! That smile on his face just melts me.

I love valentines day!

  1. How fun! I'm glad you had such a great Valentine's day. I think it can be such a fun holiday for sharing treats with friends. I hate how all the commercials are for diamonds and flowers -- No wonder so many people dislike the holiday. =P {They need to remember back to the days of classroom parties -- now that's what V-day should be all about. =D}

  2. You were always so great with the little kids in Primary. I'm sure that Kaden loved getting that Valentine from you. Kids are the best and they love you unconditionally. It was sooo sweet of you to think about the kids. Your amazing!
