It has been one of those days

when I want to scream at the top of my lungs at everyone. I'm not a patient person, so to have to stay in my office waiting for someone to show up - not a fun thing for me. I had stuff to do! And I couldn't do it until that someone showed up and signed something. So I waited. At least it gave me time to get some work done. HOWEVER, I was waiting on someone ELSE to get me information so I could finish up a newsletter. It is now 4:35 p.m. (yes, I'm at work) and I can't do a dang thing until I get the information that was promised to me yesterday. So, I'm not in a good mood. Add my impatience to the fact that I'm getting sick. And my Uncle Ru is not expected to live through the night and that makes me really sad. Really not a good combination. I'm about ready to bite someone's head off. I don't care who it is. I just need to get it out of my system!

But, there was a bright moment a few minutes ago and that is why I'm blogging right now. I was sitting at my desk trying to finish my newsletter (I have to rearrange EVERYTHING because of course I get 1/2 of the information at the last minute and I'm told that the next piece is coming soon. Yeah, like I believe that!) and trying to get everything fit in place. Out of the corner of my eye I see some guy standing at the counter with his back to me. He didn't notice I was in my office. He starts to rearrange things. I had to keep from laughing at first - then I had to bite my lip or I would have busted up. He rearranged his frontal area first - typical guy-thing. Then he started to pull his pants down just a bit so he could tuck something in or scratch or something - maybe he was fixing a wedgie. All I know is that his hand disappeared down the back of his pants and then I saw bum cleavage. Then he was nice enough to pull his pants up and pull his sweatshirt down. I quit typing hoping that he would go away not knowing that there was a witness - but he turned around and realized that someone was sitting there with a perfectly good view of him and he did move out of sight. Unfortunately, he still hasn't left and I really need to laugh!

Green

I love the color green. Dark greens are my favorite.

But I don't like it when I'm green with envy. yes. Envy. I keep peaking out our window and seeing our neighbor's new windows being installed. *sigh* I'm so very jealous! If we stay here, new windows are definitely needed and is on my list of things to do to this house - but man, I want to make that happen now!

I'm pretty stupid...

...but when you build a house on the side of a hill, shouldn't you expect something bad to happen? Don't get me wrong - I definitely feel bad for the family who built their house upon the hillside, the rains came down, and apparently so is the hill surrounding it. I do feel bad. Seriously. But you will never catch me owning a home up on a hill for that reason. Unless you build it on a rock - but with my luck the house would still come tumbling down after it slid off the rock.

Seriously, I do feel bad for the man. Spending $130,000 for a rock retaining wall that didn't work. And I definitely feel bad for the houses below it - they may have another house on top of them!

I like where I'm at thank you very much! (now lets convince tim of this)

Today was quite the day! Tim was fortunate enough to speak at Stake Conference. Ha ha! Two weeks ago, the Stake President came by to our house after conference. He called in between sessions saying he wanted to meet with Tim. I knew right away that he would be speaking in SC - but during Elder Nelson's talk Tim felt that he would be talking on Family History. So - tah-dah! He got to speak. Did you know that they have to turn their talks in early so that the spanish translator can look it over and translate it before hand? (at least in our stake). So, if any of you from our Stake was at SC and wondered why he didn't look up much, it was because he had to read it and stick to it. He did a good job. Of course, I'm a bit biased =)

Now, with Ster I didn't think we'd make it to tim's talk! He was pitching a fit because he wanted to sit up front (like 3 rows back) and I'm NOT a front-row-joe! So, he was cranky and then there were a couple of little kids squealing behind us and he was getting frustrated with that. But, we perservered and made it thru another Stake Conference!!

BTW - my minutes aren't going so well! Two days down but I'm not even 1/3 of the way thru them. Crap! I'm gonna have 4 more days of this. Yuck. I've decided I'm going to close my office door and NOT help out front - I don't care how busy they are or if they need my help. I spend half my time finding information out for people - maybe if they see my door closed they'll leave me alone!

Torture

Well, I was tortured for 8 hours. Yep 8 hours. I got to the meeting at 8 am, it started at 8:25 am, we had a 5 minute break around 10 am, a working lunch at noon (anyone know how hard it is type and eat at the same time?), a 20 minute break around 12:30, and then non-stop meeting from 12:45 to 4:45. Torture!!!! And now my torture begins again - now I get to go over my 23 pages of typed notes and make sense of them (which will take all day) and then I get to listen to the 8 hours of meeting again. I am soooooo not wanting to be here!

BTW - I still haven't had any takers on saying a prayer at the 27th City Council meeting. Please please please! If I don't get a taker, then I'm gonna have to start calling around and begging people. Come on - help me out!

Oh boy!

It is gonna be one of those horrid weeks. Just found out that I have to take minutes at an incredibly long, boring budget meeting this week. I can expect to be working on those minutes all day Thursday and Friday - probably Monday as well. Then, I'll have an incredibly long and boring work session next Thursday - and will be working on minutes all day Friday and Monday. Only to turn around Tuesday (27th) for lovely City Council meeting and then to work on those minutes for 2 days. Arg! When I took this job, I knew I'd have to do minutes - but I am waaaayyyyy past liking it. It is torture. Working on minutes of a meeting is just as torturous as calling people to find out if they would want to say the prayer at the City Council meeting (BTW, any takers on that? I have to find a prayer for the 27th. Takers? Anyone?) I don't see how my boss can stand to do minutes like he does. When I'm City Recorder (if that ever happens) you can bet your behind that my deputy will be the one doing all the minutes! And if they hire someone else for that position when my boss retires, I'll quit if I were expected to take all the minutes.

On a bright note - Tundra is much better! He still has a hard time getting up when it is colder, but the warmer weather sure has helped him. And, I think he is eating again. Earlier this week, the dogs weren't eating. I don't know if they didn't feel good or if Tundra didn't feel good and wouldn't eat and would scare Duke off from the food or if Duke didn't feel well either. But, they are doing better =) And, after my talk with Ster about Tundra getting old and not feeling well and that he may not be around much longer, Ster has been playing with the dogs alot. Unfortunately, he has been running around and screaming at 7:30 IN THE MORNING. (Had to explain to the kid that just because he is awake doesn't mean that other people are awake - and the guy in the trailer next to our fence probably didn't appreciate the noise that early in the morning!)

Boy I sure need to learn to watch where I'm going! However, it may just have gotten me rich =) My boss has to take the claims of people who damage their cars and/or themselves when the vehicle/themselves get damaged/hurt. I've always thought that if you hit a pot hole hard enough to pop your tire or get your car out of alignment then there was a good chance you were either (1) going to fast or (2) not paying attention to where you were going. You tripped on the sidewalk? Well, pay attention! Anyway, for the longest time I've said that I'm going to stub my toe and sue the city and then be rich. Well, my time has come! Yesterday I was walking to our truck on Main Street in Lehi. Well, the sidewalk is screwy and I stepped just right and twisted my ankle. What a site I must have been! Walking and suddenly my ankle twisted, my arms flew out and I had to catch myself. Wow it hurt like the dickins! I hobbled to the truck and climbed in before I made a bigger fool of myself by bursting into tears. Yeah, it hurt! Anyway, I wasn't paying attention to where I was stepping - but that shouldn't matter. I'm gonna sue! And then we'll be rich and I can quit my job and stay home and eat chocolate and watch soapies and gain 50 more pounds. Sounds like quite the plan to me. Don't worry - when I get my money I'll invite you all to my mansion for a nice home-cooked meal prepared by my chef and served to you by my maid. Man, it sounds better and better the more I think about it!

But don't worry - my ankle is feeling much better. It's still swollen and very tender and I favor it when I walk, but unless I step down too hard or move too fast I'm fine.

I'm old - and I have no problem admitting it! Tim and I are probably one of the few people in the world with cell phones but no texting. We had it for a couple of months but cancelled because we hardly ever used it. Why would we? Why pay that much money to send a dozen texts a month? We don't have a child with a cell phone and Tim can't carry his phone at all times so why bother texting? When we got new cell phones, the cellsman (ha ha) looked at us funny and told us that we were one of the few who didn't have unlimited texting. Go figure. I know I have a data plan on my phone but haven't used it yet - still gotta get used to the fact that I have it!

Anyway, I mention it because of a little instance that happened at work. Not at my building, but at another. Apparently they are short-handed today - because one lady sent a text to her boss (5 minutes before she was supposed to be there) saying that something came up and she wouldn't be to work that day. Yeah - it's called Spring Break and the I-don't-want-to-work-today syndrome. Texting your boss to tell him your not coming into work? Is that what we are supposed to do now? Wow. I didn't know - it does make it easier than risking being told that you have to be there!

Tundra

There is one reason I really don't like spring. Because we have 3 dogs, not 2.

Doesn't he look just terrible? All the tufts of fur sticking out everywhere. Nasty! I can only bend over so long while I brush him and he will only stay still for a few seconds (if daddy is around, there is no way he will sit still for mommy to brush him - and if poopsie Duke is around, he keeps moving to growl at Duke to move away). So far, I've gotten two walmart bags of fur brushed off of him. Gross. And what is even grosser - there are clumps of fur all over the back yard. Hence the third dog. My poor poopsie. I can't even stand to look at him!

I need to cherish this time with my baby. Yes, he is my baby - I love my poopsies to death. Except, of course, when it comes time to pick up the endless landmines in the back yard - then they are daddy's poopsies. Tundra is getting old - very old. His hips are going out. He has a very hard time getting up when he's been laying down and when it is cold in the morning he doesn't want to come out and get his food in the morning. It is really sad - he has a hard time like a grandpa dog, but then when the snacks come out he bounces around like a little puppy. I love my tundra. I need to cherish the time i spend breaking my back to brush him because he may not be around much longer. Be prepared for lots of pictures of my little poopsie! When I have more time and when I'm not so tired I'll be posting them =) (I have to brag - he sure is a cute dog!)

Snow

I just love the snow! I love to see the world covered in white. I love looking out in a yard that has no footsteps in fresh snow. I love how the snow sits on top of fences, mailboxes, handrails - love it love it love it!

But in April? I was looking forward to seeing leaves on the trees, flowers blooming, green grass. Even I want to have warmer weather (but be prepared for me to complain when it gets hot).

Today Sterling said, "It is Spring Break. It's supposed to be warm - not snowing!" Yep, he's right.

President Monson

I just love President Monson! He is such a wonderful man - and funny. Just gotta love the guy!
