I'm old - and I have no problem admitting it! Tim and I are probably one of the few people in the world with cell phones but no texting. We had it for a couple of months but cancelled because we hardly ever used it. Why would we? Why pay that much money to send a dozen texts a month? We don't have a child with a cell phone and Tim can't carry his phone at all times so why bother texting? When we got new cell phones, the cellsman (ha ha) looked at us funny and told us that we were one of the few who didn't have unlimited texting. Go figure. I know I have a data plan on my phone but haven't used it yet - still gotta get used to the fact that I have it!
Anyway, I mention it because of a little instance that happened at work. Not at my building, but at another. Apparently they are short-handed today - because one lady sent a text to her boss (5 minutes before she was supposed to be there) saying that something came up and she wouldn't be to work that day. Yeah - it's called Spring Break and the I-don't-want-to-work-today syndrome. Texting your boss to tell him your not coming into work? Is that what we are supposed to do now? Wow. I didn't know - it does make it easier than risking being told that you have to be there!

If it makes you feel any better, Scott and I don't text either. I think it is way easier to pick up the phone and call!
ReplyDeleteI text Bryan because then I don't risk interrupting him with a client, and sometimes Katy sends me cell phone pics through a text msg. But with my very limited texting I am starting to definitely feel in the minority -- esp if I'm around anyone younger than 20! =D
