Okay - before I go on and on about our weekend (which I will have to write later), I have a couple of tidbits.
One, did you know that birds eat dog food? I sure didn't. I was trying to figure out how come the bird turds on our patio have been getting pretty bad. Tim saw 4 birds hop across the patio, grab some dog food, and take off. When we got back from our 2 night trip, the dog food bowl was empty. It usually has food left over, but not this time! And the turds around the food dish are TERRIBLE! We are investing in a fake owl tomorrow to hang outside so that the birds stay away.
Two, my poor Tundra is really hurting! One of his toes is inflamed. We took him to a vet to get checked out - and $285 later we find that he may have an infected toe or it may be cancer. He's on antibiotics and if it starts to clear up by next Monday, then we are good to continue with the antibiotics. If it is still inflamed, the vet wants to cut off his toe and have it analysed to see if it is cancer. Makes me really sad because I love that dumb dog! He is such a sweet dog - he talks to you when you go outside to let you know that he wants his snack. He can act like a puppy at times, but then acts really old others. I hate to say it, but if his toe doesn't clear up we may just have him put down. The vet said he does have some arthritis in his hips and that makes it hard for him to get up and down when it is cold. If he is in pain, why not relieve him and put him out of his misery? Now, I don't want to hear about how he is like a member of the family and we wouldn't put Sterling down - Tim already pulled that card when I was upset about spending the $285. I do love that dog - but he's in pain and getting older. And I'm already feeling soooooo guilty for even thinking of putting him down!
Since I'm waiting for tim to get off the phone, I'll give you a sneak peak of the upcoming post:
We went to Mountain Home, Idaho, this weekend for Tim's little sister who went through the Boise Temple. We took a friend of hers up there to save on gas for him - he served his mission up there and that is how they know each other. Anyway, this guest made things very interesting for us. Food, taxi service, visiting, sleeping when sleeping shouldn't take place, messing with my music......
It'll sure be a good post to read!
