Tobacco

Wanna know the best use for tobacco? Drawing out infections. And boy do I wish I had some right now! Since I don't have any tobacco, I'll have to use something my mother-in-law gave me when she was here in February. We'll see if that the ointment works as well as tobacco.

Yesterday, I saw mesquito bites on Ster's arms. He was complaining about how itchy the bites were so I decided to put some anti-itch cream on his arms (one bite on each of his arms in basically the same location - go figure!). I felt his arm and it felt hot and hard to the touch. He usually doesn't react this way with mesquito bites, so I'm suspecting something else. Anyway, I'm a nervous nelly and worry, worry, worry about things - so of course I'm gonna worry all night long about my little stinks and if his arm is getting better.

I discovered tobacco at a young age - when my dad would use it to draw out any infections or soreness. I had a bite on my arm - exactly like Ster's. I thought it was a mesquito bite - until Saturday evening when it was bright red, hot, and puffy. Since it was a weekend my parents couldn't take me to the doctor - but that was when my dad pulled out the tobacco. My family thinks we are goofballs about it - but I can tell you right now that it works! My swelling/redness was about the size of a dollar bill - it covered most of my forarm. We put tobacco on that night and when I woke up the next morning, whereever the tobacco had been my arm was normal. (In case you want to know, we use the shredded tobacco) It looked weird - some red, but mostly normal. We put more tobacco on Sunday morning and by Monday morning my arm was normal. Thats is why I wish I had tobacco right now! Please, please, please let the ointment work!

PS - I really don't think I could have any more kids. Besides being old, I'd be such a nervous nelly with any sniffle, sneeze, or whimper! I'm so much worse now than I was when Ster was a little tyke! I cringe and jump whenever I see little kids wobble and tetter. I'd have to put foam padding everywhere just so the kid wouldn't get hurt!

  1. How ironic that just two posts later is about Sterling's broken wrist! Too bad tobacco can't help that. ;)
