In case your wondering,

the owls didn't work to keep the birds away. Any suggestions?

I thought that an owl would do the trick - it sure did when we lived in our apartments. Birds would build nests above the lights outside the doors and then would leave droppings everywhere and would scare the crap out of you when you walked by. Someone put up an owl and voila! The birds were gone.

Poooey. I hoped it would work now.
