I did it!

I was so proud of myself this weekend.  I have started to walk Duke each night - we are both chunky monkeys and need to lose a bunch of weight.  I've often thought that if I can lose my weight (especially off my BUTT which doesn't approve of me running) then maybe I'll be able to start to run.  I'm not holding my breath on me running - couldn't run any kind of distance in HS, so I'm sure I won't be able to run now.

So imagine my surprise when I start to run around our block this weekend.  Our block is not a small block, but it isn't huge either (maybe 1/3 mile around?).  I started to run and I could do it!  I didn't huff and puff.  I thought I'd have to start walking - but my lungs didn't feel like they were about to explode!  My feet didn't hurt.  My legs didn't hurt.  My butt didn't hurt.  I was running and it was exhilirating!

Then I woke up from my dream.  Bummer.

  1. You can TOTALLY run. I couldn't run in high school either, but I did a 5K last year without walking. I know you can do it too. :)
