...but when you build a house on the side of a hill, shouldn't you expect something bad to happen? Don't get me wrong - I definitely feel bad for the family who built their house upon the hillside, the rains came down, and apparently so is the hill surrounding it. I do feel bad. Seriously. But you will never catch me owning a home up on a hill for that reason. Unless you build it on a rock - but with my luck the house would still come tumbling down after it slid off the rock.
Seriously, I do feel bad for the man. Spending $130,000 for a rock retaining wall that didn't work. And I definitely feel bad for the houses below it - they may have another house on top of them!

Guess I missed that news report. But I've often wondered at those houses that look like they're just perched at the edge of the cliff. Glad it wasn't me {or you ;)}!
