I don't have any patience. Just ask Tim and Ster. So I'm quite surprised to find that I have enjoyed quilting! Shocking, I know.
For my dad's family reunion, we are in charge - which means that we get to provide the quilts to auction. (Luckily for us, my sister has won several baby quilts over the years she has been saving - and she was nice enough to donate them back) Someone - don't know who - had the idea to make a quilt with the pictures of all of my dad's family on it. We (at least some of us) thought it was a great idea. But, after 3 months of procrastination I finally bit the bullet and started. Didn't leave myself much time - but it has been easier than I thought. Is it perfect? No and it'll drive me crazy. Fun it has been fun and a learning experience.
And it has given me the quilting bug. For some odd reason, I want to make another quilt. Working on the family quilt has taught me a few things - so next time I make one I think I can do a better job. I really should have made a practice quilt first. So, I have found a couple of fairly easy patterns that I would like to try out. Now if I can find the time!
I'm gonna post some pictures when I get done - and that should be within a week so check back!

I want to quilt too! I even have the fabric for two small quilts I want to make. I'm glad to hear you loved it. Maybe it is in our genes.
ReplyDeleteOoh! I can't wait to see the pics. For awhile our RS had a quilting group that met in the church gym on every other Friday morning. The kids could run around while the moms worked on quilts. One sister taught us some easy patterns. It was so fun! It has disbanded because key members of it moved away, but I really need to get back to sewing and finish some of the quilts I started then. =)
