Wishy Washy

I think Tim wants to smack some sense into me. I'm so wishy washy. At times I want to tell him to take the "For Sale" sign down - and I start looking at carpet and paint colors and bathroom vanities and curtains and trees. And the next minute I'm checking out utahrealestate.com and seeing if there is anything new I might be interested in.

Right now I'm trying to plan some landscaping. Our yard is bare. Very bare. We do have a lilac bush, 5 rose bushes, and about flower-plants. Pretty pathetic. However, I don't have a lot of time to have a high-maintenance yard. But I would love to have a pretty yard. So, I'm trying to figure out where trees can go, what plants I'd like, and how to separate the plant section from the grass (do we want curbing? bricks? pavers?). But as well as NOT having a green thumb, I have no talent what-so-ever when it comes to design. We have an opportunity to get 4 trees in the next few weeks - so my chance to spend the winter planning and plotting my yard has dwindled down to a couple of weeks. Yikes!!! Do we want all 4 up front? 2 in front and 2 in back? all 4 in back? Crap.. I need help. Serious help!

  1. I would say spread the love to the front and the back. Good luck! I hate decisions.

  2. Maybe you could find a landscaping student who would design your yard for cheap to help build up their portfolio. Tell them you want to go for low-maintenance -- one of my favorite things here is a planter of pansies that grows unprompted every year {planted by the previous owners}. Love it! Good luck with your yard decisions!
